Colors (a 1x1 pixel generator and asset server) -...
I find that, on occasion, I need 1px x 1px PNGs of varying colors. For example … when I don’t want to fool with the box model and how different browsers implement <div> widths, but I need a column border of a certain color.

I think I just found my dream phone
It’s called the Motofone F3, and Motorola came out with it 4 years ago. It’s the simplest phone I can find. No photos. No texting (basically). No mobile web. No weirdo ringtones. Just calls, the date / time, and a contact list. That’s it. It’s perfect. Except …
Unfortunately, I can’t find the F3c model (the version necessary for Verizon’s CDMA...

So … next May, SXSW will be happening down in Austin TX. I have a panel that I’ve proposed for the conference, and I’d really appreciate your vote for it to happen.

Clayton Christensen, in a speech given to Harvard’s 2010 graduating MBAs:
Unconsciously, we often employ the marginal cost doctrine in our personal lives when we choose between right and wrong. A voice in our head says, “Look, I know that as a general rule, most people shouldn’t do this. But in this particular extenuating circumstance, just this once, it’s OK.” The marginal cost of doing...

"Negative Influence Metrics"
sirtobytobe:
I like to group conversion funnels and cohort analysis into what I call “Positive Influence Metrics.” This is when we look at the reports generated from the data we collect about users to determine the whether they are taking the desired action we want them to. Hence we look for repeat positive signals showing users taking the actions we want them to. These metrics and reports...
